Itinerary

This carefully designed Marrakech city tour itinerary allows visitors to explore the most iconic historical landmarks, cultural attractions, and tourist highlights of Marrakech, also known as the Red City of Morocco.

Stop 1: Jardin Majorelle – Marrakech

Duration: 1 hour

The Majorelle Garden is one of the most visited attractions in Marrakech and a must-see for lovers of botanical gardens, art, and Moroccan heritage. Created over forty years by the French artist Jacques Majorelle, this enclosed garden is a stunning labyrinth of shaded paths, vibrant cobalt-blue Art Deco and Moorish-style buildings, and rare exotic plants collected from all over the world.

In 1980, fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé purchased the garden to save it from a hotel development project, transforming the former artist’s villa into the famous Villa Oasis. Today, the garden stands as a symbol of cultural preservation and artistic legacy in Marrakech.

Important note: Tickets for Jardin Majorelle must be purchased online in advance.

Stop 2: Koutoubia Mosque – Marrakech

Duration: 30 minutes

The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest and most iconic mosque in Marrakech, located near the heart of the medina. Renowned for its majestic 77-meter minaret, the mosque is a masterpiece of Almohad architecture, adorned with decorative arches, ceramic bands, and elegant merlons.

Built during the reign of Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184–1199), the minaret later inspired famous monuments such as La Giralda in Seville and Hassan Tower in Rabat. The surrounding gardens and illuminated square make this stop a highlight of any Marrakech guided tour.

Stop 3: Bahia Palace – Marrakech

Duration: 30 minutes

The Bahia Palace is one of the most impressive royal palaces in Marrakech, reflecting the splendor of 19th-century Moroccan and Andalusian architecture. Built by Grand Vizier Ahmed Ben Moussa in honor of his wife “Bahia,” the palace showcases intricate zellige tiles, carved cedarwood ceilings, lush courtyards, and hidden riads.

This architectural jewel offers a fascinating glimpse into Moroccan royal life, craftsmanship, and history, making it an essential stop on any cultural tour of Marrakech.

Stop 4: Saadian Tombs – Marrakech

Duration: 30 minutes

The Saadian Tombs, located near the Kasbah Mosque, are among the most important remnants of the Saadian dynasty, which ruled Marrakech during its golden age (1524–1659). Hidden for centuries after Sultan Moulay Ismaïl sealed the necropolis, the tombs were rediscovered in the early 20th century.

Today, visitors admire the finely decorated mausoleums, Italian marble, and exquisite Islamic artistry that tell the story of Morocco’s imperial past.

Stop 5: Menara Gardens – Marrakech

Duration: 30 minutes

The Menara Gardens are one of Marrakech’s most peaceful and picturesque attractions. Featuring a large reflective basin framed by olive groves and the iconic pavilion with the Atlas Mountains in the background, this site is popular with both locals and tourists.

It is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and experience the authentic Moroccan atmosphere, especially during warm seasons.

Pass By: Royal Theatre of Marrakech

Located on Avenue Mohammed VI, the Royal Theatre is a modern architectural landmark inaugurated by King Mohammed VI, symbolizing Marrakech’s cultural and artistic development.

Pass By: Gueliz – Modern Marrakech

The Guéliz district represents the modern face of Marrakech. Known for its lively atmosphere, cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries, this area highlights the contrast between the historic medina and the contemporary city.
